INTRODUCTION
In
order to help students plan an appropriate high school program of study, the
following Academic Handbook has been prepared. It contains a description of the
courses offered, their content, graduation requirements, and additional
pertinent program and scheduling information.
The course information has been organized by department.
Planning
is of the utmost importance and should be the combined responsibility of the
student and parents/guardians. Planning
and appropriate course selections enable students to meet the district’s
requirements as well as personal educational goals.
Some
areas that may be considered in making student course selection are:
¯
Individual educational goals and career
interests
¯
Past achievements and performance
¯
District graduation requirements
¯
Course requirements and pre‑requisites
¯
Course credits
¯
Teacher/Counselor recommendations
Course
selection worksheets at the back of this handbook assist with both short and
long-term planning.
