The
Pennsylvania Department of Education Keystone Recognition awards were
recently bestowed on 1939 public schools that achieved Adequate Yearly
Progress (AYP) during the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 school years. AYP is determined, in part, by student
performance on the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment tests in
mathematics and reading. The state
education department has partnered with the Pennsylvania Association of
Federal Program Coordinators since 2004 to present the award “as a public
recognition of the quality work and commitment shown by students and
educators". We are pleased to
present the Keystone Recognition plaque to the principals of Beaver Creek,
Brandywine Wallace, East Ward, Lionville
Elementary, Pickering Valley, Shamona Creek, Uwchlan Hills, and Lionville
Middle School.
